'Putting on the Glitz' at The HAC - Christmas Party 2011

After another successful season in 2011 we will be back at the HAC bringing the theme 'Putting on the Glitz' to the venue this year. We'll be taking you back to one of the most razzle-dazzle and glamorous of times - the fabulous roaring 1920s. A time of rag-time jazz and the Cotton Club, prohibition, silent films, the Charleston, flapper girls, colour, excitement and, above all, fun!


The HAC Grand Hall & Ballroom

Guests will start the evening in our stylish black and white "speakeasy" where prohibition will be in full swing with bartenders serving Manhattan cocktails from tea cups to disguise the alcohol. At the appointed time, the huge oak doors will slide back with a flourish to reveal the stunning 'Cotton Club' dining area. Here sparkling table centres, hundreds of candles and stunning lighting will combine to create a spectacular riot of colour brimming with party atmosphere.

This stunning design with our fabulous domed dance floor, fantastic entertainment will ensure your guests have an evening to remember!


Location: In the heart of the city just a short walk from Moorgate station.

Sample menu

Starter

  • Fillet of salmon, pickled mouli, asian dressing and coriander shoots
  • Tarte fine of roasted tomatoes and mozerella, nicoise olive tapenade, field greens and basil vinaigrette (v)

Main course

  • Roasted breast of Barbary duck with an apple and pea mash, buttered Bok Choy & a five spice scented jus
  • Jerusalem artichoke and mushroom pithiviers on savoy cabbage and crème fraiche with a celeriac Dauphinoise and a cèpe jus (v)

Dessert

  • Rich chocolate truffle cake with a mulled wine syrup and a compote of winter berries
